Family friends of U.S. Army Sgt. David Williams, of Frederick, who died on August 18th, in Afghanistan, came to pay their respects Wednesday evening during a viewing at Stauffer Funeral Home.  Katrina Blakey said Sgt. Williams was a member of the church that she attends, Fort Detrick Memorial Chapel.  "He was humorous, funny, loving, and he would always give you these huge hugs from such a little person."  Don Blakey is also a member at Fort Detrick Memorial Chapel.  "And one of his favorite sayings was 'good day'.  He leaves a big hole in the Chapel.  We're going to truly miss him.  One good thing that comes to mind is that his mother went to be with the Lord in 2006 and she was there to greet him, I'm sure," continued Blakey.

Sgt. Williams' obituary said he was a decorated and deeply respected soldier who had been serving his country since 2008.

A private memorial service will be held at Fort Detrick Memorial Chapel Thursday, followed by burial at Arlington National Cemetery.
