U.S. Army Specialist Casey Work, from Walkersville, was one of several soldiers honored during Wednesday night's Washington Redskins game. "It was about troops that have just come back and those that they wanted to honor and I got chosen by my leadership," said Work. "It was a really cool experience and an honor to see the players. A lot of people don't get the chance to see something like this," continued Work. Casey and her dad, Frank attended the game together and had seats in the endzone. She arrived in her uniform and was taken on the field with several other soldiers to be honored for their service to the country.
Specialist Wiork is attached to the 443 Army Military Police Reserve Unit of Owings Mills, Maryland. She joined the Army in May, 2011. Her unit was deployed to Bagram, Afghanistan in December of 2011 through 2012. She currently is attending Frederick Community College and works at Bonefish Grill in Frederick.
