A suspect was taken into custody.

Drug Enforcement Unit officers arrested a Frederick man Friday night for selling them fake cocaine. Claude Earl Freeman, Jr., 26, is charged with narcotics offenses.

The cops say Freeman offered to sell them  the drugs, and once the deal was completed, he was placed under arrest.

A search of Freeman's person netted additional narcotics.

Frederick Police say Drug Enforcement Unit officers were able to verify that the cocaine sold to them was fake.
