Cardin said we have made a lot of progress compared to where we were four years ago.

We were on the brink of a financial collapse four years ago and need to continue moving forward according to Maryland Senator Ben Cardin who is attending the Democratic National Convention this week in Charlotte, North Carolina.

He said we have made a lot of progress compared to where we were four years ago.

"We have an active legislation that will prevent what the reoccurrence of what happened on Wall Street, Bin Laden is no longer there to harass the world, our troops are home from Iraq. We have made progress but we clearly need to do a lot more. One thing that we don't want to do is go back to the failed policies of the Bush administration that brought us to where we were four years ago," Senator Cardin said.

President Obama will speak tonight.
