A 29 year old South Carolina man is wanted by the Frederick County Bureau of Investigation. Authorities say Johnny Riley, of North Augusta, charged homeowners on Bridgeport Road for paint jobs he never finished.

The victims said they hired Riley to provide painting services, and he and several other men started the work, but at the end of the day, even though the job was not completed, Riley requested to be paid in full. The homeowners paid the man, but he never returned, police said.

The Sheriff's office warns residents to be cautious of scammers offering to do home improvement work. Investigators say reputable contractors will be able to provide a company name, address, phone number and credentials through the Maryland Home Improvement Commission, along with references.
