The man's vehicle hit a tractor trailer head-on.
Maryland State Police in Hagerstown say an Indiana man was killed in a two vehicle collision on I-70 early Saturday morning.
Authorities said 52 year old David Kassing, of Carmel, had been traveling westbound on I-70 at a high rate of speed, just east of Hancock, when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed the median and entered the eastbound lane of I-70, while still heading westbound. Investigators said Kassing's 2011 Porsche struck a 2004 Volvo tractor trailer head-on. Both vehicles caught fire during the collision. Authorities said Kassing was killed instantly.
The driver of the tractor trailer, 30 year old Delvin Martin, of Hagerstown, refused medical treatment on the scene.
