The detour will be in place from 9pm-4am.
Maryland State Highway officials say maintenance work is planned for Wednesday night on Mapleville Road, in Washington County, which will require a detour during the overnight hours. Crews will be replacing a drainage pipe that runs under Maryland 66, just north of the Mt. Aetna Road roundabout, said officials. "The detour for northbound traffic will be to take Mt. Aetna Road to Robinwood Drive, to Maryland 64. For southbound traffic, on Maryland 66, motorists will turn right on Chewsville Road, which turns into Whitehall road, then take Maryland 64 to Robinwood Drive, to Mt. Aetna Road," said SHA spokeswoman Heather Keels.
The detour will be in place beginning at 9 p.m. "The road will reopen to traffic by 4:00 a.m.," continued Keels.
