Police will go after stop sign runners & those who park in fire lanes.
Next month, the Thurmont Police Department will be conducting a traffic safety initiative. Between Oct. 1 through the 31st, officers will be going after motorists who fail to stop at stop signs, and park in marked fire lanes.
Authorities say the goal is to educate drivers, and detect and identify those individuals who are found to be in violation.
No warnings will be issued during that time.
