There was no damage.
A small earthquake was felt in parts of Frederick County Saturday morning. "It was a magnitude 2.1 earthquake that occurred about 5:51 a.m.", said USGS geophysicist Paul Caruso. "The epicenter was about 3 miles from Lake Linganore, Maryland," continued Caruso. "It has been felt in New Windsor, Mt. Airy, Sykesville, Gaithersburg, Westminster, Finksburg and Ellicott City."
There was no damage, he said, because it was so small. "It could have taken books off of shelves, at worst."
The Frederick County Sheriff's Office received no calls about today's quake.
