Middletown Man Arrested After Trying To Use Counterfeit Money

He tried to pay for his gas using a counterfeit $50 bill at Freestate Gas.

A 23 year-old Middletown man was arrested Tuesday night after he tried to pay for his gas with counterfeit money.

Around 5:30 p.m., Frederick Police went to Freestate Gas in Frederick for a fraud complaint. Officers had a description of the car and located Ryan Lightner driving in the area of Willowdale Drive and Keypark Way. He was pulled over and Officers found drugs on the suspect and that his license was suspended.

The passenger in the Lightner's was also found to have drugs in her purse and two warrants out for her arrest. The two were arrested and charged.
