A man and a woman were arrested on Thursday for consuming alcoholic beverages in the Carroll Creek Linear Park. They're identified as Ricky Lee Schroyer, 53, and  Alice Wars Butler, 59.

Frederick Police say an officer on patrol noticed the two under the Mural Bridge drinking from containers inside brown paper bags. The officer approached and found out that the two were drinking alcoholic beverages. During the arrest, authorities say marijuana and a smoking device were found on Schroyer's person.

Police remind citizens and visitors that possessing or consuming intoxicating beverages is prohibited by law in city parks.
