Four people were taken to the hospital.
Frederick Police are continuing their investigation into a five-vehicle crash Tuesday morning at North McCain Drive and West Patrick Street. The accident sent three people to Frederick Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Another person was medicaved to University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore with critical injuries. Police are not releasing any names at this time.
Authorities say it all started when a pickup truck traveling in the westbound lanes of West Patrick Street collided with a silver Honda making a left hand turn on to McCain Drive. The truck then went through the pedestrian fence and collided with two vehicles in the eastbound lanes of West Patrick Street, which were stopped for a red light. The silver Honda also went through the fence after traveling 150 feet, and struck two eastbound vehicles.
The driver of the silver Honda was taken to Shock Trauma, and is listed in stable condition.
Accident reconstructionists were called to the scene to assist in the investigation. They're also trying to determine the cause of the crash.
