The City of Frederick held a meeting Tuesday night to discuss late night crime and other issues surrounding the bar in the downtown area.

After shots were fired at the Bentz Street Sports Bar in Frederick earlier this month, the City of Frederick held a meeting Tuesday night to discuss late night crime and other issues surrounding the bar in the downtown area.

Alderwoman Kelly Russell said residents and business owners discussed their concerns. She said there needs to be a solution to meet everyone's needs.

"The goal is so that the establishment can continue to operate successfully as a small business but without encroaching on the neighborhood, the peaceful enjoyment of the neighborhood for the folks. So we don't want to crack down and run businesses out. What we want, is to find a way so that businesses and neighbors can co-exist together," Alderwoman Russell said.

Some of the possible solutions are closing the bar at 1 a.m. and changing some of the music selections.
