One was charged with drug offenses.

Two Frederick residents were arrested on Wednesday afternoon following a traffic stop.

Police say an officer on routine patrol pulled over a vehicle in the 200 block of Madison street for a non-functioning brake light. It was operated by  Ardell Demetrius Lee, 20, and his passenger was Nautica S. Urgent, 19.

The officer approached the vehicle and detected an odor of marijuana. A police canine was called to the scene to do a drug sniff, and alerted officers to the presence of narcotics. The cops found a small bag of suspected marijuana inside of a purse on the passenger's side floorboard, along with several smoking devices.

Urgent was charged with drug offenses, and Lee was charged with driving without a license.

Both were taken to Central Booking for processing.
