30 Years in prison is what a drug dealer was sentenced to Thursday in Frederick County Circuit Court.
States Attorney Charlie Smith said officers found more than two and half kilo's of cocaine and about $13,000 in cash when they raided Eric Arnette Smith's apartment, following a two month investigation, conducted by the Frederick County Narcotics Task Force. "It was a pretty substantial sentence for Mr. Smith. But when you deal in high quantities like that, and high monies, you get a high sentence," said Smith.
Eric Smith pleaded guilty Thursday in Frederick County Circuit Court.
A Frederick County Grand Jury returned 8 indictments on Friday. "Most of them involved drug cases. One was heroin," said Smith. "There was one that was an armed robbery case. It involved 17 year old Aaron Thomas Mitchell, of Frederick. It happened on September 17th, when he approached his victim with a handgun and asked for money. The victim threw him one dollar. Mitchell picked it up and chased his victim," Smith said.
Others indicted on Friday include Russell Warren Whitmer, of Knoxville, Philip Curtis Leone, of Dundalk, Terence Kent Wade, of Frederick, Brandon Lee Muse, of Frederick, Wayne and Barbara Whisman of Boonsboro, Laterris Taray Plummer, of Frederick, and Tamir Edwon Matthews of Baltimore.
