As the leaves begin to change colors, Catoctin Colorfest is right around the corner happening this weekend from 9 to 5 p.m.

Thurmont Mayor Marty Burns said it is one of the town's largest events.

"We get approximately 100 to 125,000 people in the municipal corporate limits in the town of Thurmont. To put it in perspective, we have 6,000 residents," Mayor Burns said.

He said everything sold by the vendors in the community park is one of a kind and hand-made.

"All kinds of food, anything you can imagine, they sell down there. You can buy things, presents and gifts for family, relatives for Christmas [or] Halloween. You can really pick up anything. We've decorated our house for years just by going to Colorfest," Mayor Burns said.

There will be designated parking areas and a shuttle service available at the high school.
