The father has been taken to Shock Trauma.

One man was accidentally shot by his son early Tuesday morning.

The Frederick County Bureau of Investigation says the 48-year-old man and his 12-year-old son were shooting a 22-caliber rifle on a farm in the northern part of the county. A bullet fired by the boy ricocheted off of a truck and hit the man in the chest.

He was flown by State Police Medivac helicopter to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where he's currently being treated.

Authorities say the address and identities of those involved will not be released because the incident involves a juvenile.

The investigation into this incident  continues,  and no charges are expected to be filed.
