Victim says he ran when a suspect pulled a gun on him.
An attempted robbery is under investigation by Hagerstown Police.
Officers were dispatched to the area of 11 West Baltimore Street at around 2:48 Thursday morning to look into reports of an assault with a handgun. They were told by the victim that a dark colored Saturn SUV approached, and a man got out. He produced a handgun and demanded all of the victim's property. The victim fled on foot.
The suspect is described as an African-American male, who was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and something red covering his face.
