As the wind gusts gets stronger, more local residents are losing power.

Potomac Edison reports 27.480  customers in Frederick County are without the juice.

Other areas reporting power outages are: 4,847 in Washington County, 2,636  in Montgomery County, 9.507  in Berkeley County, West Virginia,  677 in jefferson County, and 2,582  in Morgan County.  5,443  are without power in Adams County, Pennsylvania.

Utility officials say they expect wide spread power outages due to the wind and rain from Hurricane Sandy.
