A Frederick man was arrested early Sunday morning following a "road rage" incident. Quinn Thomas Hurley, 25, is charged with 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.

Police say they were contacted by a driver traveling along Taney Avenue toward West 7th Street, who said a man drove up behind him, and started honking his horn. The complainant drove into the opposing lane to let the other motorist by. The offending driver pulled up along side the complainant and pointed a handgun at him. The victim slammed on his brakes and let the driver with the gun go by.

The victim began following the vehicle while contacting police with his cell phone.

An officer on patrol spotted the suspect vehicle at West PatricK Street near Route 15, and he was pulled over. Hurley was taken in custody without incident.

He was taken before a court commissioner who set bond at $10,000.

Authorities say they learned that Hurley dropped off the firearm at a relative's house prior to the traffic stop. It turned out it a look-alike gun that fires pellets.
