President Barack Obama has won Maryland.
Exit polling on Tuesday shows the President has defeated Mitt Romney in the heavily Democratic state. Registered Democrats outnumber Republicans by a 2-1 margin in Maryland, which has 10 electoral votes.
Maryland Democrats who supported the President say they believe Obama has put the nation back on the right track after the recession. Supporters also said it will take more than the four years of a single term to dig the country out of a deep economic hole.
Republicans who supported the former Massachusetts Governor said they believed his business background made him better qualified to repair the economy.
