A juvenile was killed in two-vehicle crash in Carroll County Tuesday night.The

The Sheriff's Office says the youth, who has not been identified, was a front seat passenger in a Mercury Grand Marquis. Deputies say the driver of that vehicle, Nicholas Ryan Gaetani, 18, failed to negotiate a curve along Deer Park Road west of Jeffras Court. The car crossed the center line and was struck on the passenger side by a Dodge Neon operated by Levi Jared Malcolm, 21.

The juvenile was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS. Gaetani and Malcolm were flown to University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore with non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities say alcohol and drugs were not factors in this crash.

They also say deputies arriving on the scene found the two vehicles off of the roadway in the front yard of a nearby home.
