Ijamsville Road between Ball Road and Prices Distillery Road will remain closed until the Spring or Summer, 2013 due to road reconstruction.

The Frederick County Department of Highways and Transportation says the contractor, Richard F. Kline, Inc., needs to reconstruct the existing roadway from 1,000 feet north of Ball Road to Prices Distillery Road, which includes building a retaining wall between the stream and Ijamsville Road near the Prices Distillery Road intersection.

The county says the original Ijamsville Road project extended from Route 80 to 1,000 north of Ball Road. That work has been completed, but the project has been extended to include improvements to Prices Distillery Road.

Work is expected to begin on this project on November 19th, and continue until the Spring or Summer of 2013.

Motorists will be detoured using Route 80 and Prices Distillery Road.
