The Washington County Sheriff’s Office was searching for two men in connection with the theft of $635.96 in merchandise last week from the Sears store at Valley Mall in Halfway.

The incident happened Nov. 19, when two men are alleged to have stolen four Craftsman tool sets from the store and fled in an older, white Plymouth van, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Officers said an employee tried to stop the men before they got away.

One of the suspects was described as a white male with a heavy build. He was wearing a camouflage jacket and a brown baseball hat.

The other suspect was a thin, white male, the release said. He was wearing a black hat and a black printed shirt.

Anyone with information my call the sheriff’s office at 240-313-2170.
