A Frederick man is facing gun offenses after police conducted a traffic stop in the downtown area Friday afternoon.  "In the course of that traffic stop, one of the passengers exited the vehicle and started fleeing the scene," said Lt. Clark Pennington.  Officers chased the man through a vacant lot toward South Market Street.  He was eventually caught.  "And during that detention they located a loaded handgun in the man's waistband," continued Pennington.

Dearil Green, 36, is charged with carrying and wearing a concealed deadly weapon.  Lt. Pennington said he had a 357 magnum revolver in his possession.  Green was also wanted through the Frederick County Sheriff's Office for failure to pay child support.
