New Monocacy Blvd Section Opens To Traffic

It was formally opened on Monday with a ribbon-cutting ceremoney.

 

A ribbon cutting was held on Monday to open the central section of Monocacy Boulevard to traffic. The central section connects Interstate 70 and East Street to Route 26 and Route 15. The city has said that roadway  could open up a lot of land for commercial development which could create jobs for the community.

On hand for he ribbon cutting were formers Mayors Jeff Holtzinger, Jim Grimes, and Ron Young, whose now a State Senator.

Also joining Mayor Randy McClement and the Board of Aldermen were representatives from six previous administrations.
