If you want to help a good local cause this holiday season, the Children's Christmas Campaign is in need of assistance. The program helps families with small children in need during the holidays.

Reverend Bryan Scott, Executive Director of the Religious Coalition, says Christmas is especially important to children.

"Christmas is often about children and is often about the things that we see under the tree. So this is symbolic, for us its God's care and reaching out to our neighbors in need and that's why we do this every year, to help out families in need," Scott said.

Scott said this year more than 600 children in this program need help.

The Children's Christmas Campaign wants to make sure that every family has toys, clothing and a gift card to a local grocery store so they can buy food for their Christmas dinner.
