Frederick Police have arrested a 17-year-old in connection with a shooting Wednesday night on Hillcrest Drive. Dylan Grey of Frederick is charged as an adult with first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, wearing and carrying a handgun and use of a handgun in the commission of a violent crime. Lieutenant Clark Pennington says officers were dispatched to the scene at around 4:45 to investigate reports of shots-fired.

"When the officers arrived on the scene they did locate a male suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest," said Pennington. The victim was flown to Shock Trauma by State Police helicopter where he's listed in stable condition.

Lieutenant Pennington says the victim went to a residence in the 400 block of Hillcrest Drive and he and Grey got into an altercation. During that time, the victim was shot in the chest. Pennington says the victim and Grey knew each other, and this was not a random event.
