The Frederick County Sheriff's Office is reporting an elderly woman was killed when her car rolled onto her, trapping her underneath.

According to a press release, 78-year-old Lucy Peters Smith was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident in Middletown.

Emergency officials received a call at about 2:20 p.m. on Monday about a person under a car in the 8300 block of Hollow Road.

Police say Smith was outside of her car when it rolled backward and trapped her underneath.
