The Frederick County Fire Marshal's office is looking into a blaze that happened inside of a garage at a home in the 1700 hundred block of Wheyfield Drive early New Year's Day. Authorities said it was a neighbor who heard a loud explosion. When he went to see what was going on and saw fire, investigators said he grabbed an extinguisher and put the blaze out while others called 9-1-1- and alerted the occupant who was inside of the residence.

Damage to the two story home is estimated at $25,000. Fortunately there were no injuries.
