Senator Brian Frosh said the approval of these bills will help law enforcement to crack down on illegal gun sellers, availability of assault weapons, and other gun restrictions.
In order to keep our community safer a group of Maryland lawmakers have announced a series of gun control proposals. Senator Brian Frosh said the approval of these bills will help law enforcement to crack down on illegal gun sellers, availability of assault weapons, and other gun restrictions.
"Another would address the magazine capacity of semi-automatic weapons, right now Maryland has a limit of twenty rounds this would reduce it to ten rounds," said Frosh.
Frosh said the purpose of the bills are not to go against constitutional rights.
"Nobody is trying to take away second amendment rights, nobody would be prohibited from owning guns or from owning weapons that can be fired multiple times quickly even," said Frosh.
The proposals will also outlaw carrying a firearm into certain public spaces. Frosh said in light of the Newtown tragedy and other shootings in the country lawmakers want to act now to protect our children and our families.
