A Thurmont woman was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore on Sunday night after being hit by a car in the 10,000 block of Hansonville Road.

The Frederick County Sheriff's Office said Taylor Shae Toms, 22, was struck at about 7:30 p.m. while walking with a friend.

For unknown reasons, she walked into the southbound travel lane and was hit by a car. The driver of the car, Patricia Ann Fredericks, of Thurmont, was not injured.

The accident continues to be investigated and police asking anyone with information to give them a call at (301)600-1046.
