A Hagerstown man was being held on $50,000 bond on charges that he assaulted another man with a can of beer and a steel pipe and robbed him, according to Washington County District Court records.
Damion Lee Farrar, 34, of 1022 Corbett St., is charged with armed robbery, robbery, first- and second-degree assault, theft under $1,000 and reckless endangerment in the incident, which occurred at about 2 a.m. Saturday at Farrar’s home, according to the statement of probable cause filed by Hagerstown police.
Police spoke with the alleged victim, Stacy Ray Higgens, at an address in the 500 block of West Franklin Street, the charging document said. Higgens had injuries to his face and both eye sockets, the document said.
Higgens told officers he was at Farrar’s house and said “inappropriate things” to a woman at the party, the charging document said. Farrar became upset and hit Higgens in the head with a beer can, the document said.
Higgens told officers that Farrar then struck him several times in the face with a steel pipe, the charging document said. Farrar then took a cellphone, a wallet and $34 from Higgens, the document said.
District Judge Ralph H. France II kept Farrar’s bond at $50,000 during a bond review hearing Monday afternoon.
