The accident killed a Mount Airy man.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident that claimed the life of a Mount Airy man.
According to a press release, deputies responded to the 5000 block of Lynn Burke Road around 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
Their investigation revealed that the driver, William Owen Mulkey, age 59, was driving a Ford Explorer when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The SUV struck a stone wall and Mulkey was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lynn Burke Road was closed for about three hours between Old Bartholows Road and Lee Hill Drive during the investigation.
