In Frederick County, Maryland State Police are currently working a fuel spill incident from a tractor trailer's saddle tank.

The incident happened shortly after 4:30 a.m. on northbound Route 15 at Route 550 in Thurmont.

Approximately 40 gallons of diesel fuel was spilled. Fire Department units from the surrounding area and also SHA personnel from CHART are also on the scene. Maryland Environmental Protection is en route to the scene.

Due to the spill, Route 15 northbound is currently closed with traffic being diverted down the exit ramp at Route 550 in Thurmont and back onto Route 15 northbound from the on ramp.
