An arrest has been made in connection with a burglary in Frederick last May. Terrance Tirell Kerns is charged with 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault, 1st-degree burglary, 3rd-degree burglary, and reckless endangerment.

He was served with the warrant at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center where he's incarcerated on unrelated charges.

Police say on May 8th, 2012, a man entered a woman's apartment at 152 Willowdale Drive while she was asleep. He came into the bedroom, put his hand over her mouth and said "I have a gun. Don't scream." Authorities say the victim screamed struggled with the burglar, and then bit him on the hand, causing a laceration to his hand.

He left the bedroom and went out the front door.

Officers conducted a search of the area, but came up empty.

The victim suffered minor abrasions as a result of the struggle.

Investigators say they were able to link Kerns to the burglary.
