Local And Surrounding Area Closings For Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday

Frederick & Washington County closings.

City of Frederick government offices will be closed Monday.

Frederick Community Action Agency and Food Bank will be closed

Frederick County Bank will be closed. ATMs, night depository and online services will be open.

Frederick County government offices will be closed Monday.

The Animal Control Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the showings of animals and adoptions from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There will be curbside recycling pickup on Monday. The Frederick County Landfill and Riechs Ford Road Recycling Center will be open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Administrative offices will be closed.

TransIT-plus (demand response), all peak-hour bus service, MARC Train, Meet-the-MARC and the 991 commuter bus services will not operate on Monday. Other services will operate on regular schedules.

Frederick County Public Library will be closed.

Frederick County Public Schools will be closed Jan. 21, and will remain closed to students through Jan. 23.

Frederick Soup Kitchen will be open from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

William R. Talley Recreation Center will be open regular hours.

All Frederick city parking decks and meters will be free on Monday.

There will be no trash collection service in Frederick city on Monday. Residents are asked to hold trash until next collection day. Downtown commercial district collection will be on a normal schedule. There will be no yard waste collection for NAC 9. The next collection for NAC 9 will be Feb. 4.

The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration will close its full-service and express offices on Monday. All Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program stations will also be closed.

In Washington County

On Monday, January 21, Washington County Government observes Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Administration offices and most services will be closed.

County Commuter transportation service will run its regular transit routes and provide service on that day. The Hagerstown Regional Airport terminal will be open. All landfill sites will be closed.

Public safety services will be provided as usual.
