The victim was killed in a trailer fire on Friday evening.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office has identified the man who died in a trailer fire in Garrett County on Friday. He's Robert Reckart, 37, whose body was found inside his mobile home located at 10 Horseshoe Lane in Oakland. He was the only occupant of the home.

25 fire fighters responded to the scene on Friday night just before 6:00 after a neighbor saw the trailer on fire.  Personnel discovered Reckart's body. Investigators determined the mobile home had no working smoke alarms.

The State Medical Examiner says the cause of Reckart's death was thermal burn injuries received during the fire.

Deputy State Fire Marshals spent several hours going through the remains of the trailer, and determined that the cause of the fire was combustible materials located too close to a kerosene heater.

The damage is estimated at $1500.

Detectives with the Garrett County Sheriff's Office assisted in the investigation.
