Authorities are searching for the second suspect.

Frederick Police have apprehended a local man in connection with an armed robbery last Tuesday. Datwon Davon Diggs, 18, of Frederick, was arrested on Monday, and charged with armed robbery, robbery, 1st and 2nd-degree assault, theft under $100, two firearms offenses and reckless endangerment.

Authorities say an officer on routine patrol in the area of Hillcrest Drive was approached by an individual who said he had been robbed at gunpoint. The victim told police he was making a pizza delivery to the Westwinds Apartments on January 22nd when he saw several people hanging around the stairwell. After he entered the building, he was approached by a light skinned black male with glasses who pointed a gun at him and demanded money. A second person also pointed a gun at the victim. The two went through the victim's pockets, and removed cash. They also took the pizza order.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division were able to identify Diggs as one of the suspects.

Police say the investigation is ongoing, and the search continues for the second gunman. Anyone who has information on this individual is asked to call the lead investigator, Detective Garcia, at 301-600-1247.  They can also call the Frederick Police Department Tip Line at 301-600-TIPS {8477}.
