This year, Christian Lopez has already made it past the first round of auditions in New York City.
A Martinsburg, West Virginia teenager will be heading to Hollywood for the second year in a row to compete on the hit-tv show, American Idol.
Christian Lopez, a 17-year-old senior at Martinsburg High School, made it to the Hollywood round last year, on season 11, then came down with the flu and was eliminated. This year, he has already made it past the first round of auditions in New York City and has been to Hollywood but cannot give any details on the competition until it airs on TV.
He said he is excited for this season and that the entire experience has been life changing.
"It would absolutely change my life. Just to get to where I am noticed on the show would change my life. To where I am right now, even last year, has changed my life. It has been such an opportunity and I always keep the outlook that this an opportunity and not a destiny but you always want to get as far as you can go. It has already been a life changing experience for me and will continue with this season," Lopez said.
The Hollywood rounds are expected to air within the next month to month and a half after the city audition finish airing.
