The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for the Frederick area until 12:30 a.m.

Some locations that are affected by the heavy rain include Ballenger Creek, Boyds, Braddock Heights, Brunswick, Damascus, Green Valley, Mount Airy, New Market, Taneytown, Walkersville, Point of Rocks, Sykesville, Westminster and Harry Grove Stadium.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.  Act quickly if flash flooding is observed.  Move to higher ground to escape flood waters. Do not stay in areas subject to flooding when water begins rising.
