Officials say the river will rise above flood stage by early tomorrow evening and crest near 17.3 feet by Saturday morning.
A flood warning continues for the Potomac River at Point of Rocks.
At 8:00. this evening, the river level was at 9.3 feet and rising. Flood stage is 16.0 feet. Minor flooding is forecast.

The river will fall below flood stage by early Saturday afternoon. At 16.0 feet the parking lots at both the McKimmey and Brunswick Boat ramps begin to flood. Flooding of an agricultural field adjacent to the McKimmey boat ramp is occurring. About half the parking lot of the Point of Rocks boat ramp is also flooded.
In addition, the National Weather Service is continuing the flood warning for the Monocacy River near Frederick until Friday evening. At 8:00 PM Thursday, the river was at 17.5 feet. Flood stage is 15.0 feet. Moderate flooding is occurring, and is forecast.
