MTA says it's all due to a tree which fell across the tracks.

Three Brunswick MARC trains will not be operating this afternoon (Thurs) because of a downed tree across the tracks.

The Maryland Transit Administration says trains 875 (4:25 PM departure from Union Station), 879 (5:40 PM departure) and 895 (6:40 PM departure) will not be in service.

But train 877 will operate through Martinsburg, and train 881 will make all stops between Washington and Martinsburg. MTA officials say those two trains will make all the stops it normally doesn't due to the cancellation of trains 875, 879 and 895. As always, METRO will honor MARC tickets this afternoon as an additional option for passengers.

The MTA says the tree lies 50 north of the Washington Grove Station in Gaithersburg.   The agency says crews are clearing debris from the downed  tree, which it says was a likely casuality of Wednesday night's storm.
