One person was killed in a single vehicle accident on Interstate 70 near Pecktonville in Washington County Tuesday morning.

Maryland State Police say an Audi passenger car operated by  Dallas Lee Miller, 22, of New Holland, Pennsylvania was traveling westbound on I-70. Miller lost control of his vehicle which entered the center median, striking a tree. He was partially ejected.

Miller was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say police, fire and rescue were dispatched for a car on fire in the center median of I-70 at around 8:53 AM. An off-duty State Police flight paramedic arrived on the scene, and with the help of two citizens was able to get Miller away from the burning vehicle.
