While on foot patrol in Carroll Creek Friday night, a Frederick Police officer observed several people congregating near the suspension bridge, and one was attempting to hide something. When the officer made contact with the female, identified as Samantha Nicole Beasley, he discovered that she was trying to get rid of a cigarette box that had a small portion of a marijuana cigarette inside. She was placed under arrest. While being transported to headquarters, Beasley also attempted to conceal a rolled marijuana cigarette in the rear of the patrol vehicle, authorities said.

Beasley is charged with possession of marijuana less than 10 grams.
