No one was hurt.
A two-alarm fire destroyed the Reel Bait and Tackle Shop in Hancock Monday morning.
Fire fighters responded to the blaze at 26 Canal Street shortly before 3:00 AM, and were able to bring the flames under control within 45-minutes. There were no injuries.
The State Fire Marshal's Office says damage is estimated at $300,000, but says the building is a "total loss." An adjacent single family home and the C&O Bicycle Shop suffered exterior heat damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Anyone who has information on this fire is asked to call the Western Regional Office of the State Fire Marshal at 301-766-3888.
The fire was first spotted by a neighbor who called 911.
Fire department personnel from Hancock, Clear Spring, Williamsport and Washington County Special Ops responded to the scene, along with units from Berkley Springs, Great Cacapon and Hedgesville in West Virginia, and McConnellsburg in Pennsylvania.
