A Thurmont man is charged with four counts each of 3rd-degree sex offense, 4th-degree sex offense and 2nd-degree assault. John James Salvi, 71 was arrested Sunday night.

Police say they were contacted on February 23rd about the sexual abuse of a 13-year-old girl. Through numerous interviews, officers say they determined the incidents happened between December 25th, 2012, and February 14th, 2013; and they occurred in the suspect's room in the 400 block of North Church Street.

Salvi was taken Central Booking on Sunday for processing. His bond was set at $150,000.
