Distinguished Young Women of Frederick County is looking for high school junior girls to participate in their program.
It is a scholarship program that encourages girls to develop their individual potential by showcasing their accomplishments during a program that will take place on Sunday March 17th at Urbana Middle School. Applications are being accepted now. To participate you must be a junior, slated to graduate in 2014, be a U.S. citizen and live in Frederick County with a G.P.A. of at least 3.0.
Applicants will compete in a group fitness routine, public speaking, interview, scholastics and on-stage talent.
There is no entry fee and registration must be complete by March 1st. The local winner will advance to the state contest in Westminster in July where she will have the chance to further advance to the national competition happening in Alabama.
The Distinguished Young Women is the largest and oldest national scholarship program for high school girls. It has provided life changing experiences for more than 700,000 young women and more than $63 million of cash and college scholarships have been provided in the program’s 55 year existence.
