A winter storm watch has been issued for the region by the National Weather Service.

The winter storm watch will be in effect from Tuesday evening through Wednesday night.

Up to five inches of snow is expected and some parts of the watch area could receive more than five inches of snow.

Precipitation is expected to start as rain Tuesday evening and then change to snow.

Snow will continue to fall through Wednesday evening.

A winter storm watch means there is a potential for snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
