Man Arrested In WV After Car Chase

The car was stolen from Montgomery County.

Early Tuesday morning, Deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office ended a car chase that began with a stolen car from Montgomery County.

Just after midnight, the chase began in Frederick County, Virginia where the Sheriff's Office was trying to pull over Matthew Cameron for drugs and driving a stolen vehicle. He fled the area and drove into West Virginia. Police put down spike strips and was able to deflate the left back tire of Cameron's car on Apple Harvest Drive. A short time later the vehicle stopped in State Circle.

Cameron was handcuffed and charged with fleeing, DUI and being a fugitive from justice.
